The building at 177 Washington St., Winchester was built in the 1870’s and used as a private residence. The bottom floor of the residence was converted into a funeral parlor by Joseph Moffett and purchased by Robert J. Costello in 1961. Since that time, the building has been expanded and renovated to improve the comfort and aesthetic facets of our home and to provide complete handicapped access.

At Costello Funeral Home we provide a full range of affordable, dignified services to all religious faiths and nationalities. Whether you choose Burial or Cremation, Graveside Services, Traditional Funeral Services, Church or Memorial Services, we will guide you in a caring and professional manner through what can be a difficult and confusing time. We understand that preferences may vary and will accommodate and facilitate your needs as necessary to ultimately satisfy your choices, financial and otherwise.

We pride ourselves in the compassion we extend to families who place their confidence and trust in us. You will find that owners/Funeral Directors Joe and Lauren Costello are available to personally and promptly answer your phone call, letter or e-mail inquiries with specific service and price information.

Joe is currently an elected member of the Board of Health, serving as chairman, and the Knights of Columbus, Council #210. He is a former member of the Winchester Rotary Club and served one term as a member of St. Mary’s Church Parish Council.
