Beatrice M. (Brown) Bairstow, 89, of Norwell, formerly of Scituate and Winchester, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on September 19, 2006.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George and Ethel (Nason) Brown. Beatrice and her late husband Ewart, were long-time residents of Winchester, where she worked for the phone company and was a Crossing Guard for the town while raising their four children.
The family moved to Norwell in 1970, where Beatrice served in the capacity of Matron for the Norwell Police Department and was also a volunteer at Brockton Hospital. She was also a member of the Minot Beach Association who enjoyed animals and reading in her spare time.
She was the beloved mother of Laurence Bairstow of Tewksbury, Carol O'Keefe of Weymouth, Gail Lonigrow of Rumney, NH and Clement Bairstow of Scituate, and the sister of the late George Brown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Patricia, Kelly, Lisa, Kristina, Scott and Todd, and her great-grandchildren Mitchell, Courtney, Aiden and Anika. At Beatrice's request, Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
