Elizabeth Mary (Freeman) Oliver, age 105, a longtime resident of Winchester, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023.
Born 1917 to Thomas James Freeman and Elizabeth Mary (Ryan) Freeman, both immigrants from Newfoundland who married and settled in Brighton-Allston area of Boston.
Predeceased by her husband Karl E. and her sons John R. and David M. Oliver of Winchester, her grandsons John and Michael Oliver of Billerica, her brother Thomas Freeman of Brighton and her son-in-law Robert Nickerson of Lubec, ME.
Mother to Elizabeth A. Spencer of Hudson, NH, Catherine M. and John Looney of Winchester, Karl F. and Carol Oliver of Waquoit, Mary Ann and Jerry Conner of Londonderry, NH, Daniel E. and Linda Oliver of Winchester, Ann Marie Oliver-Nickerson of Lubec, ME. Two sons, John R. and David M. Oliver, predeceased her. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Visitation at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Saturday, June 17 at 9AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 10AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Pan-Mass Challenge https://www.pmc.org .
