Gary S. Provenzano, age 74, of North Reading, formerly of Arlington, passed away on March 9, 2026. He was the beloved husband for 48 years of Kathleen A. Provenzano.

Born in Winchester, Gary was the son of the late Alfred J. and Eileen M. (Guarnotta) Provenzano. He was raised and educated in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School. After high school, he attended Northeastern University and Anna Maria College, earning bachelor’s degrees at both. He then received his master’s degree from Northeastern.

As a police officer, Gary worked in Baltimore for two years before joining the Arlington Police force, enjoying a successful career spanning 30 years before retirement.

In addition to his wife, Kathi, Gary is lovingly survived by his children: Joseph Provenzano of North Reading and Danielle Provenzano and her boyfriend Tim Murphy, of Tewksbury. He was the devoted grandfather of Jayden A. Provenzano and the dear brother of Richard J. Provenzano and his wife Nancy and Joseph A. Provenzano, all of Woburn.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 10am-12noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
