Obituary
George B. "Barney" Doherty, age 77, of Woburn, formerly of Winchester, passed away on Feb. 12, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Imelda M. "Nellie" (Doyle) Doherty, and the loving father of Elizabeth Doherty-Pool and her husband Jerry of FL, Carol Ann Doherty-Barera and her husband Ray of Belmont, and William B. Doherty and his wife Lisa of Norwell. Mr. Doherty was also the devoted grandfather of Chad and Troy Pool, John and Jimmy Doherty and is further survived by many nieces and nephews, 3 siblings and was predeceased by 5 siblings. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington Street, Winchester, on Wed., Feb. 18, from 4-7PM and then again on Thurs. at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 11AM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barney's memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd St., NY, NY 10016, or to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation 200 S. Park Rd. – Suite 100, Miami, FL 33021.
