George Francis Pacetti, of Winchester, died peacefully Friday, May 28, 2010 at home following many kind visits by family and friends. He was 92. The second child of Gino S. and Clara C. Pacetti, he was raised in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington high school class of 1936 and attended Chauncey Hall. In 1943-1946 he served in the US Army Air Corp.
In 1937 he joined GS Pacetti Company of Boston, a tool and die manufacturing firm owned by his father. In 1958 he became president of GS Pacetti Co. and in 1969 moved the company to North Reading. He retired in 1983.
Shortly after his marriage to Barbara Eldredge in 1951 they became residents of Winchester. He was an active community member, involved in Church of Epiphany as a vestry member and usher, Winchester Republican Town committee member and Winchester Hospital as a volunteer for many years. In addition, he helped Barbara in her activities as a member of the stage crew at Winton Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara and sister Florence and survived by his children Chris and his wife Suzanne of Littleton, Colorado, Peter and his wife Heidi of Falmouth, Maine and Martha McInnis and her husband John of Marblehead, Massachusetts, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his son Jeffery who died in infancy.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 from 5 to 8 PM at Costello Funeral Home in Winchester. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 10 AM at the Parish of the Epiphany in Winchester.
