Helen A. Hatch, age 66, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away on July 15, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert L. and Angelina H. (Tortolano) Hatch and the cherished sister of Elizabeth A. "Liz" Hatch of Woburn.
Born, raised, and educated in Woburn, Helen graduated from Woburn Memorial High School with the class of 1978. As a lifelong learner, she earned multiple degrees from Middlesex Community College, Suffolk University, Bentley University, Lowell University, and the Massachusetts School of Law.
She was the familiar face to greet customers at the Mirrored Image Hair Design Salon in Wakefield, where for many years she worked alongside her sister and best friend Liz.
Helen served as the MA Republican State Committee Woman for 30 years, bringing her respected insight and clarity to many deliberations.
In her spare time, Helen enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed several European excursions and annual trips to Disney World with Liz. Locally, they enjoyed visiting Hampton Beach and trips to the Wentworth by the Sea Resort, and they never missed the chance to stop at the Beach Plum for an ice cream treat.
In addition to Liz, Helen leaves behind a host of extended relatives and friends and a Cocker Spaniel companion Luna.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Monday, July 20, from 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
At Helen’s request, in lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the MSPCA-Angell 350 South Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. www.mspca.org
