Janice A. (Menino) Sarno, of Lexington and Gloucester, where she had spent many wonderful summers and was at her happiest, died on Sept. 20, 2026, after a lengthy illness, with her husband Jack and twin sister Janet at her bedside.

Best known by family and friends as “Jackie”, she was the twin daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Menino of Winchester and the cousin of the late Mayor of Boston, the Honorable Thomas M. Menino.

Jackie grew up in Somerville and spent a short time living in California. After attending Mt. Ida College and Boston University, she worked for the Sylvania Corp. and then later as the Director of Purchasing for the Commonwealth of Mass.

Jackie worked on various political campaigns where she formed lifelong friendships. As an ardent sports fan, she enjoyed going to Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium to root for her teams. She also loved ballroom dancing and taught for a short time at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio with her twin sister.

Jackie is lovingly survived by her husband, Jack, of Lexington, and her son, Douglas, of Indiana. She also leaves behind her sister, Janet DiModica, of Melrose, a sister-in-law, Nadine, of California, and several nieces and nephews.

A private interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Animal Rescue League of Boston in memory of all the dogs she and Jack had over the years. www.arlboston.org
