Obituary

Jean F. (McNamara) Day, age 87, a 61-year resident of Winchester, passed away on November 27, 2021. She was the beloved wife for 50 years of the late Jeremiah F. "Frank" Day, until his passing in 2010.

Born in Cambridge, Jean was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Meade) McNamara. She was raised and educated in Cambridge, and was affectionately known there as one of the "Mac" sisters. She graduated from the Sacred Heart School in East Cambridge. In 1957, she met the love of her life, Frank Day. They would eventually marry and move to Winchester.

She and Frank raised their children in Winchester, and enjoyed attending all of their sporting events. In her spare time, she was a devoted BC Eagles fan, and loved taking trips to their family home in Moultonborough, NH.

Jean is lovingly survived by her children: Kathleen J. Day Paradis, and Timothy F. Day and his wife Deirdre, all of Winchester. She was also the dear sister of the late Mary Foley, Margaret "Peggy" Dunn, Helen Pacheco, Julia "Pat" Hurley, Mildred "Millie" August, and is survived by her loving nephew James Foley, her sister-in-law, Anne Coady and her husband Paul. She was the devoted grandmother of Daniel P. Paradis, Megan and James Day, and is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Thursday, December 2 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Eulalia's Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
