Lillian Eleanor Wolsey passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. She was 97 years old.

Eleanor was born in Melrose, MA to Karl V. and Lillian E. (Lane ) Wolsey. She attended Medford public schools & earned an Associate’s Degree from Mount Ida College. Eleanor worked in various financial roles, notably at Winchester Trust Company, BayBank & Fleet Bank, throughout her career while living in Winchester, Wareham and Stoneham.

Eleanor was proud of her Swedish heritage and enjoyed baking and sharing her culinary creations – especially her Currant Cake. She had a unique fondness for following NASCAR racing and enjoyed shopping in her local communities. However, primary to her life, was her Baptist Faith. Eleanor was a devout member of various Baptist churches and found great comfort in time devoted to charities and attending congregational events.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Eleanor leaves her sisters, Barbara Thompson of Worcester, MA and Karlene Callahan of Middlebury, VT as well as three nieces and four nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Karl Wolsey, Jr., and brothers-in-law Clifford Thompson, Sr. and James Callahan, Sr.

A Graveside Service was held on May 28, 2026 at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester, MA.
