Obituary
Margaret Sheila Granfield, 89, passed away on June 30th, 2014. She was born in Winchester on September 25th, 1924 to her parents Bridget (Flaherty) and Patrick J. Maguire. Margaret has been a lifelong resident of Winchester. For many years she worked as a Data Processor for the Town of Winchester. She was a faithful parishioner and member of the the Ladies Sodality at the Church of St. Mary. Margaret was the wife of the late John J. Granfield; the mother of Stephen J. Granfield of Winchester and the late Gerald Granfield; the step mother of Josephine Goldin of Andover; and the sister of Mary Avakian of Woburn and the late John and James Maguire. She is also survived by four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Thursday July 3rd at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at the Church of St. Mary in Winchester at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass on Thursday only. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Residence, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143.
