Obituary
1918-2005
Mattie M. Barnes, former owner of the Ocean Point Inn located in East Boothbay, ME, passed away Saturday Nov. 5th at the age of 87. She was born in Manchester, NH to John and Katherine Maciolek on July 6, 1918. She graduated from West High School in Manchester with the class of 1937.
Mrs. Barnes, along with her late husband, Warren F. Barnes, were owners and innkeepers of the Ocean Point Inn in Boothbay, ME from the late 1940's until the early 1980's. During that time, the daily operations of the Inn allowed them to forge many friendships with their guests.
In the early 1950's after the birth of their son, John, the family split time between Boothbay in the summers, and Winchester and Dunedin, FL in the off-season.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Ocean Point Inn at a later date.
